About the Event

This online workshop is part of the HISTORY HUNTERS programme provided by the ANCIENT CONNECTIONS PROJECT to support curious individuals and those with an interest in their local history and stories, to develop skills and be mentored to dig further into their community's past and share what they find effectively.

The ‘Sharing Our Stories’ online workshop is free to attend, and no previous experience is necessary. We will discuss some of the amazing stories that connect County Wexford and Pembrokeshire during this workshop. We will also explain how these stories were discovered and help participants brainstorm their research projects. There will also be time set aside to share any interesting stories or topics from your area that may help others in their research.

To support you with your research, we're also offering free training workshops during our festival. These include four modules:

- Using Online Sources Part 1 & 2

- Sharing your Research, Blogs and Articles

- Telling your Local Stories to the World

- Collecting Oral Histories and Stories

Each module is supported by an informative, downloadable resource pack.

This workshop will be facilitated by Tara Clarke, Abarta Heritage

Tara is a professional archaeologist and researcher for Abarta Heritage. Throughout her career, she has worked on projects which vary from experimental archaeology to genealogy. Over the last few years, she has taken a particular interest in working with communities to help them tell their stories through various mediums such as tour guiding and audio guides.

Tara has previously worked in County Wexford for the Irish National Heritage Park and has spoken at our story-sharing events in Enniscorthy and Ferns in 2019.

Places on this workshop are free, but limited, so booking is essential.

Os oes angen help arnoch gyda'ch hymchwil, gallwn gynnig pedwar modiwl hyfforddi AM DDIM a fydd yn meithrin sgiliau sydd angen arnoch er mwyn casglu, recordio a rhannu trysorfa o hanes a straeon o'ch milltir sgwâr.
