About the Event
Our festival training programme is designed to hone your skills and get you ready to get blogging, with training in using online sources, planning oral history projects, blogging, writing articles and storytelling. Of course, you may already be an experienced local history blogger, so this might appeal to you too!
The best 5 will be added as guest blogs on our website and the winner will receive either a 1 year OPW Heritage card or CADW membership for a year.
HOW TO ENTER
Write a blog entry of up to 800 words (no more), and submit it to us by sending it as a word document on email to tara@abartaheritage.ie by 12pm, Noon on Friday 28 May. Do send us relevant images as well, as long as the rights for the images have been cleared for use.
If you'd like to enter but feel you need to brush up on some skills, see range of FREE History Hunters workshops as part of our festival (5-14 May). 'Sharing your Research' (6 May, 2pm and 11 May, 6pm) is specifically designed to get you up and running on blogging, while our research skills will help you to uncover information and shape your research project and perhaps the focus for your blog.
We'll announce the winner in mid June.
